I came across a Buck Nemo 122 knife and researching has brought me here.

Has matching box with 122 Nemo printed on the end. Black plastic sheath. Black handle, Buck USA stamped and partially serrated. Not sure ifs ever been used. Not sure of the identifying marks for sharpening though.

Does anyone know more about it?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about value but they produced them in the 1970s for underwater/scuba use. I've never seen one in person, just pics.

Dj, welcome. Your Nemo would have to be a 1971 model 122. It should have a lanyard hole. The box should be a 2 piece yellow box. That model was discontinued that year. Then brought back in 1973 for half the year then discontinued for good. Your level of membership does not allow you to ask for values. Read the rules at the Buck topic page. Other members pay for that privilege. Sorry, they'd tar and feather me if I told you what they sell for. You should erase that part before a Moderator locks your topic. A good find. Post some pictures. DM

Erased. Thanks for the info. I can email pics if you'd like.

2 piece yellow box and 2 pieces of paperwork as well.

Does it have a lanyard hole? Those with that sheath and box are hard to find. Your welcome. DM

Both sheath straps are there the top one is just underneath. The box is in ok shape, no holes but some marking. I should have cleaned it up before taking pictures but, that's all smudge marks. Blade is damn near perfect.

Nice find!

It's one of those things that are difficult to appreciate. It's rare which suggests it's valuable, but like all similar things, the circle of people who appreciate these things is quite small. Perhaps smaller than the quantity that were ever manufactured.

If it were me who stumbled across it; I would clean it up, take great photos and show it off.

I'm not a hard core collector though so the novelty of things diminishes pretty quickly for me. I believe I have only 1 knife in my collection that I wouldn't part with. It's locked in my safe, buried with others that I'd love to get rid of...lol

I don't know much about it but I can tell you it is fairly rare and you don't see them come up for sale very often. I am a collector and would like to run across one. Nice knife and consider yourself lucky to have found it. I see an upside down tang stamp and micarta scales, that should help narrow down the year.

With box and sheath all in great condition, a collectors dream. Having all of the paperwork, box etc is rare.

gsea, indeed a collectors dream. Through the years, I've seen perhaps 2 of these brought to my table at a show. None had the box or papers. This one is in good condition. DM

What's the one knife?:D

I know it's not as fancy, decorative, or exotic as a lot of Buck's seen here, but there's just something about the primitive look and materials...

I thought I could part with it... I was wrong.
