Buck 123 Lakemate age

I have a Buck 123 and can not find out when it was made. It just has Buck USA 123 with no dots or any other markings. Leather sheath

Those are shown in Buck's 1985 catalog with kraton handle & a brown sheath.Those with wood laminate handles were offered by Bass Pro. DM

I see in the 1983 catalog that the LakeMate came out that year with the others in 1984. Just wondering what year mine was and if it was 425M or 420HC.

In general I think of the 425m era to be 1982 to 1992.

I have a Lakemate and I consider it to be 425M as DesotoSky says.

The catalog information I have shows the Lakemate from 1983 through 1999. Somewhere I have some information for dating the knives, but I will have to do more searching.

hillts1, a good find. I have a model 539x, Tru-Blue folding fillet knife with a 5 1/2" blade. First year mark, with 425m steel. The same steel as yours. The blade length is close to yours. It handles many of my cutting jobs and the steel is good. DM
