Hello to USA from Germany,

first i want to apologize for my potentially bad english, so if there are mistakes in it... sooorrryyyyy.

Back to the topic.... in 1990 i bought a Buck knife 124 with a white handle and polished blade. It looks like this (I found this picture in the internet):
Bone%20Frontiersman%208.jpg
If anyone wants, i can send pictures, maybe there are differences, i haven´t seen!
Some enqiry in the internet gave me the information, that this knife was only produced 250 times and most of them were shipped to europe (also me!!)

But now the collectors fever has gone and i want to sell it. So i´m thinking about selling it at ebay in USA.

Can anyone inform me, what a collector my pay in USA for this knife, because (i hope it´s understandably) i don´t want to give it away under price...? I don´t know the date, when to sell it via ebay, but because of the exchange rate to EURO it will take a little time.

The blade is in top-condition, never sharpened, never used. No scratches...

Thank you very much and please answer in german (no just a joke!! :D ), i try to understand your answers.

Thanks
Dietmar

Mein Freund,

Well then, Dave,

It is understandable if you read word by word and if you have a bit phantasy. I think Dietmar will understand what you wrote.

Best,
Herbert

...Haebbie... sind Sie und Dave wird total ein Paar der Süchtiger "des örtlich festgelegten Blattes". Das konnte für mich gut sein. Sehen Sie viele faltende Dollarmesser dort in Deutschland?...:)

Hi Darryl,

it seems so: Dave und ich sind die Forensüchtlinge. :D:cool:;)

Why do you think that it is good for you? There are not a lot Buck folder in Germany, but sometimes very intersting ones.

Best,
Haebbie

Well Darryl, if there are for example 5 Buck 110 to find at the German eBay, it is a lot. At the same time you have 100 at eBay.com. That is the difference. Only the new folder you find very often in Germany, but I don't count them, I only collect ... :D :D :D

Best,
Haebbie

...LOL...No need for you to count Herbert as you're doing just terrific with just the great "collecting" you do...:)

Thank you for the flowers, Sir!

:D;):) Best,
Haebbie

But why do you put "collecting" in quote signs?

:D:cool:...Herbert...The 2 little lines next to the "C" represent fixed blades you have and the 2 little lines after the "G" represent the fixed blades you're looking for...:D:eek:

darryl you are twooo funny... quick thinking tho...
as to number of buck knives..
well consider that:
Germany is the size of Montana in land
and
three times the number people in Illinois

how many buck knives come from each on ebay?
so it is a equally popular knife!
jest here is so much bigger..

Thank you, Darryl, especially for the second two little lines. Wish me good luck that I get them and that they are cheaper as I suppose.

Best,
Haebbie

Dave, Ask anybody in Germany what a Mercedes car is, everybody knows that. But Ask anybody what a Buck knife is. Nobody will know what that is. But if you ask somebody in the US what Buck knife is, everybody knows like the mercedes car in Germany. In Germany only the specialists have a clue what Buck knives are.
:rolleyes::eek::cool::D;):)

humm i should explain in English
there is a forum for selling, you pay membership to get to post that forum.
they want the membership money to help pay for haveing the equiptment to keep it up.
the forum police can make your post go away and keep you from posting at all.
you can use edit button and change your post which is what i suggest you do
german translates to english much better then the other way around.
also it can make for funny reading in german...buck translates as dollar so dollar knife ...
i need some more coffee ... this time with caffine!
hummm...

Oh.....Dave was speaking in another language.

Now I see why his post was a little harder to understand than usual.
