Does anyone know whether buck made a dark, red, wooden handle 124 with a tan sheath.I am trying to start a 124 collection and would like to know if this is a legitamate, original knife I'm looking into. Thanks.

Yes Buck made them for several years 1985-1997.
Need to see a pic of the knife and sheath or describe the blade stamp
Some tan 124 sheaths had custom stamped on the back side.
Good luck with your collection, the 122/124 are my favorites.
Does the 124 look like these?

Maybe I've missed some posts but I am sure glad to see that EEE is back. I've missed the postings of his remarkable collection.

With respect to the question posed by Mastiffman08, there also was a 124 with very dark Burgundy Micarta made, I believe, in about 1972-73. One just sold on EBAY:

Note also that it has the tan sheath, although I cannot certify that it is original to the knife. The seller, however, is usually very particular and I would not think that he would mix and match.

Telechronos:):):)

your knives are awsome!!!Yes, It has the the same handle and the tan sheath reads 124 on the back. Im told it is a 1986. Thank you for the information :)
