TAH, I'm no expert on this model. Nor do I own either one. I have examined both of them numerous times. They are impressive knives. Bikers like them. Once at a truck stop a burly biker let me hold & look at his M9. It is quite the impressive knife... These babies are built for 'duty out of country.' To me they look close. There are several versions of each of those models. The M9 was offered in several different lengths. I think 5" was the shortest. It would not surprise me if it would fit. That's my best guess. Good luck on your search my friend. DM
The club site does not have the data written for the model 188 yet. But I'm fairly sure that model was offered with a maximum 7" blade. Perhaps a collector here has one and could check for us. I know for sure the 184 DID come with a 7.5" blade. Thanks, DM
Ok. Here is the scoop. The sheaths are the exact same length etc for the 188 as for the 184. The only difference is that the blade opening is a bit wider on the 184 sheath because the 184 blade is thicker than the 188.
I just tried sheathing one of my 184's in a 188 sheath and it was a bit tight but it would go in all the way.
So the answer is that a 184 will work at least in one of my 188 sheaths but it is a bit tight.
