Buck 186 Titanium query

Hi Everyone,Today I bought a mint in box Buck 186 Titanium and have a query about it.

The blade opens and closes okay, but in the closed position the spring is very weak.

It's only just strong enough to hold the blade closed when held with the blade down.

Is this normal for this model?

My ordinary 110 has a much stronger spring and snaps shut very well whilst the 186 does not.

It is a great knife apart from that.

Is there any way to fix it?

Any and all help very much appreciated, thankyou.

BTW, if you were to disclose where you are you could possibly receive pointed information from neighbors. For example, if you are in Oregon I would suggest you attend OKCA this weekend and show your weak spring 186 to a stellar Buck Factory representative, Joe Houser, at the Buck Table or show it to the master Leroy Remer at his table. Notice that my posts show me in Oregon so members have an idea if I am a neighbor, or not, and give me relevant geographical information. Just a thought. The 186 Ti is the knife that brought me to the Buck Forum many years ago now.

Thankyou Tiguy7,I will give it a go and see if thats makes it better.Much appreciated for the help.-Jay
