How big are the chips/ nicks in the edge?
If you don't have the proper sharpening equipment, I would suggest a trip to post falls, they will make it sharp as new for you! They seem big under a magnifying glass but only about 1/3 of the size of the cutting edge. Would it be called a chip or a nick?
Thanks for the responses, it's been a while since I have sharpened a blade and the last time was with a electric can opener that had built in sharpening stones. I have and old USA made Schrade Old Timer 330T I could practice on that looks like it was shapened by the can opener.
