hey, just been wondering if anyone would be able to tell me the collectors value of this knife. it's in mint condition. thanks for any help

Hey Spyguy :) Welcome to Bladeforums. They have a BUCK Forum here on Bladeforums. Just go to where it says "Manufacturers" on the top bar and then scroll down to BUCK Knives. I talk to them every now and then and a lot of the guys that hang out there really know their BUCK Products.

Check out the BUCK Forum. Also if you want to e-mail me at >> joedot AT swbell DOT net << I have some information you might find helpful. Good Luck

Welcome to the forums spyguy,
I did a search and we made about 4000 model 110 for Duck's unlimited in 1987It was commemorating their 50th anniversary. Cuurent value should be somewhere around $125. 4000 pieces is a lot for a special project so those kinds of numbers tend to keep prices down some.
Hope this helps.

Hey Joe thanks for the information. I'm interested because my boss is big time, long term member of Ducks Unlimited and he is always interested in anything I can find for him pertaining to the DU organization. Was that the only special edition Ducks Unlimited knife or product you guys ever made?

I was wondering in particular if you all ever did any of your great fixed blades for DU? You guys are a great American Institution. I have BUCK knives I'll never get rid of. JD Spydo

Heh, JD, there was also a 112 Ducks Unlimited Canada LE from the same year. Green scales and an etched blade (ducks of course) and NS bolsters. Came with a very nice satin lined box but no sheath.

Hi JD,

Welcome to the Buck forum. Buck has made many special edition knives over the years for DU. They have made many folders and fixed baldes for DU. I currently have two Buck/DU knives (112 1987 50th year USA & Canada). Check ebay they often have DU Buck knives..both folders and fixed. Some extra info...the CA 112/110 came in green and brown fibron handles.

Here is a scan for you:

They also did a vanguard 192 (fixed) with a french green handle With Ducks unlimited etched in gold on the handle, and the DU logo laser cutout of the blade. I believe.

ok thanks for checking that for me Joe Houser. i would have definitely thought that this knife would be worth much more, with gold etching and multi colored wood handles and a display box i would guess it probably cost more than that retail?

I did a check on the actual retail and did not come up with anything. The issue is that we have done special pricing in the past for organizations like DU, NRA, ect. so they can use the knives in their fund raising efforts.
Over the years we have done quite a few specials with the 110 and gold etching so it make it somewhat easy to compare one project to another. Usually with collectors, it does not necesarily matter what the theme on the knife is. The quantity made, etching type, handle/blade/bolster material used, determine the current value.
If we only made 100 of those knives, the value would be higher I am sure.
I hope this helps.

thanks so much for the help joe, you know your stuff. Now I know where to come with all my questions.
