Back in the mid 90's I had an internet knife company and I still have a couple of NOS Bucks with a 1995 date code. With current versions going for $28-$38 on amazon is there a demand for ones from 1995? I have two 110's one with papers both never used with boxes, packing and sheaths that have never been folded shut, and one 112 with papers and even the sample of Simichrome that Buck used to pack with them. The brass has tarnished sitting in the boxes but I would not want to polish them if they have ANY collector status.

For $30-$40 each it does not feel like its worth listing them for sale. I will just hold onto them as gifts... If they are worth selling then I will put up an ad in the exchange.

Should you ever think of trying the Buck sale area, be sure to show both sides of the knives. With models of recent age they need to be special and/or NIB to get full pricing. Sometimes interesting scale wood will drive value up a little, if the scales were to be good matches. Also show all papers that came in the boxes along with sheaths.

I agree and if this was in the sale area I would have more pictures of each knife including the backs. I am just trying to check with the experts of the buck forum to see if its worth my time to do it.

Thanks!

My take on it is that once you get into the 420HC steels about 1992 there is no premium for an older knife. The knife is essentially unchanged from then until today.

I agree with 300. Your knives are new and 20 years old but Buck's steel, handle material and sheath hasn't changed. Can you think of something special that happened in your family that year? A birth, someone graduated from high school or college, they started to work in a good job. Think along these lines if you want to gift them to someone. DM

I've given Buck 110s like those to family and friends that happened to be born the same year as the knife.
My grandson got a 1995 Buck 110 on his birthday a while back.
He was very excited when he got the knife....he was thrilled when I told him it was born the same year as he was. He cleaned his first 8 point with it last year.
My son got a 1970 Buck 110 that I refurbished to look new one year for his birthday. He too was thrilled and has cleaned many deer and hogs with it.

This is just a thought for you, but to me that was worth way more than any dollars I could have received selling them.

As others have said they aren't particularly collectible however, I think as a set, given the matching boxes, scale material and completeness they might be worth a slight premium to the right person.

Thanks guys. Its like I expected. Buck really has not changed this classic knife in the last 20 years. I am amazed that they can keep building the knife in the USA and its still sell it for the same prices as then. The 110/112 is a nice knife but even I would rather use my Bucklite 112 then the heavier classic model. Maybe if I worked construction and not sitting at a desk doing programing all day I would keep one of these for myself. My knife collection these days is mostly, Benchmade, Spyderco, ZT, CRKT, Kershaw, and now Chris Reeves. I remember 30 years ago when it was mostly Gerber, Buck, Kershaw, Al Mar in my pocket. Back in the days before pocket clips and and liner locks.

I will keep my eyes open for a way to brighten someones day with a classic Buck as a gift.

As someone born in that year, these are cool :D

I have a 1995 knife, a Camillus GI knife, carried that thing for a long time when I got it. Searched for a Vic soldier, but no luck (rare year). If you have these in a month or two I will send you a message :)

Sure drop me a PM. I am in no rush so don't expect they are going anywhere soon. I have already had them in the new in the box for 20 years ;)
