My dad just gave me this knife and i'm seeing some mixed reviews online. It seems pretty sturdy, good blade, nice grip on the handle. and i like the way it clicks securely into the sheath, my rapala just kind of wedges in with no click and that kind of bugs me. Anyone have any experience with this knife?

Franken, I have the folding fillet model, but haven't put it through any paces.

I've been out of fishing for a good long while, but planning on moving down on the lake, and bought this to sort of inspire me to get cranking on that aim. Also hope to start going down to keys during winter again.

Sorry I can't report on usage, but despite the rather so-so grade of steel, mine is very sharp and seems it would be great for all sizes fish, as the large handle allows one to choke up on it for smaller ones, but still do large ones.

I have read on some other forums that it's not very salt-water resistant though, definitely needs daily flushing if used around the ocean.
