Out of the box and into the hand sold me just from the way it felt in the palm of my hand with a closed fist, it felt as good as an old pair of slippers.

The opening of the knife was like no other I have ever opened, one-hand opening using the thumb stud was very fast with no hesitation, not so much as even a hic-up.

The price was fairly reasonable at about $60.00 at the local Gun Shop. After looking the knife over closely I discovered that on each side of the blade and the inner side of the handle Buck used a brass washer, almost felt like bearings as you opened the knife. Closing of the knife was the same way, and if real careful one can close the knife with one hand as well. I would not venture out to say this was as fast as an auto-opening knife, but it comes very close.

This is one beautiful piece of workmanship with an all stainless steel and walnut handle makes for one excellent hunting knife. The carry case in one rugged black heavy duty nylon sheath that would be great in the outdoors for hunting, camping, hiking, etc., and if one wanted they could take this knife anywhere and feel comfortable.
