Not legal in Canada? I tried to buy one from a center of knives but seems like there have been issues at the border with similar items. They did provide me other options but it seemed fishy.

There may be issues with assisted openers at the border .
But I have never had a problem.
there is a vendor in B.C. that carries the 294.
I don't know if they advertise here so email me
and I will let you know where you can purchase
what you are looking for right here at home and avoid
the hassle.

Thanks Peter, I did end up ordering the 294. Hopefully I didn't jinx it this time around. The s30v sounds like a good steel and a nice departure from the 420.
