Which scales do people prefer on their 300 series slip joints? I know of black plastic, charcoal dymondwood, cherry dymondwood, and yellow delrin. Please inform me of any others I missed.

I have a 309 in black plastic, but I'd really like to have charcoal dymondwood some day.

Stag scales....for me;)

I have a stag 307 and 309 which are my favorites. I think the stag on the 307 is aftermarket, but I still like it!

Well there is red and brown jigged bone, paper stone, black delrin (not plastic) both smooth and saw cut delrin, reds, Yellows, stags, diamondwoods and a few others I know I forgot. I like the plain old black delrin.

My personal favorite is an Elephant Ivory scale, Leroy cut from a old .45 pistol grip. I also favor elk over sambar antler. I once in a while will do a 300Bucks custom in burl wood and always like those, except I keep giving them away. Have some pretty ones from JAG, I will try to get on Sunday show.

From the factory: Old- Redbone (425m blades), New (Blue shield) - Yellow Unless they come out someday with a elk scale, like back in the 80s. But no rivets.

Stumps, Photo of the stag 307 please
