Buck 301 -2 backspring?

apparently?? Now I don't know where it is, but anyway..

Don't feel like retyping a detailed post so....
What year did the become model 301 become a three backspring knife?
Been researching the 300 series and the model 303 was changed around 1990
according to one of 300Bucks info posts.

I believe the year for change to 3 springs is usually given as 1990 but you will find some 1989 dated knifes with 3 springs as well.

Mid-year sometime in 1989 Buck started making the 3 spring layout. You'll find 1989 date coded 301's in both styles.
