Buck 301? Just a newer version of the 307? What's different?

First, I can't see any of these knives in person so, my research is limited to conflicting information on the web.

General specifications say the pattern and size are the same. What is different between these two knives? Is it worth the effort to find a clean 307 on eBay for $50~$100?

I know a link was shared but this gives me an excuse to post my 307. The 307 is top, followed by , 301,303,and 309. The 307 is the same size as Case 75 large stockman.

I have an early example, 1972ish, or so purchased used off the bay several years ago. Very clean and lightly used. I carry it every now and then. It is a big ol' chunk of knife for the pocket.
