I got a 301 as a gift and love the knife but the center pin sticks out about 1-2mm and you can feel the lip snag stuff.

Can I tap that in or should I send it back. Also, the back spring seems very weak. My older 303 and other stockmans snap closed better.

I'm not sure what you should do about the pin.

But I just wanted to say that the backsprings on my 301 also have less "walk-and-talk" than alot of other slipjoints that I've owned.

It does'nt seem to affect the knife's performance though, and it makes it easy on the thumbnail when opening.

Good luck,
Allen.

I suggest asking the nice folks in the buck knives forum in the manufacturers section.
