A Buck 301 sold today for $103 - One would think It must have been a nice knife.

It looks like a Schrade made Buck 301, as the handles have the 8OT serpentine look, and the swedge looks like a Schrade, but I thought the Schrade contract knives had all three blades marked. I have one like this and the secondary blades both have BUCK stamped on the back side. I'll wait for 300Bucks to weigh in.

It appears to have the Swinden keyhole construction, at least from what I can see in the pictures presented.

Looks Schrade to me as well. There were a few issues of the 301 made by Schrade. I think the one mentioned is a later style without all three tangs marked. Never added a 301 to the collection and at the finishing price it seems I will not add one soon LOL!

Koldgold, I will load up your picture because it tells the whole story.

The first one of the BUCK 301 knives I ever saw had a main blade stamped 8OT. IT was not too difficult to figure out who was making them for BUCK !!!
This was in the RAMROD GUNSHOP in New Castle IN. I wonder if the shop is still there as it was a wonderful place. I did not buy the BUCK as I had a SCHRADE 8OT in my pocket. I did buy my first ever BUCK there though, A 119 Special that I still have and have used the dickens out of in the ensueing decades.
I just remembered the names of the propriators of the RAMROD shop...Rupert Alexander and his son Steve Alexander. They were nice folks too and I hope still are as we speak.
