I picked up a Walmart model Buck 301, and I have to say, it's a true knife bargain.
The fit & finish are first rate, the blade grinds are nice & even, plenty of snap, and at $19, it is probably the value I have ever gotten for my money.

My one gripe ( there's always one ), is the "China" on the Sheepsfoot blade.
I guess it's required, but I sure wish it was not there, for no really good reason, really.
 
the China model # is 371, the USA model is 301.. same config except for the wood handles. Glad to hear the Quality is good.

Is the "China" on this model stamped deep like the tang of main blades usually are, or that crummy-looking black lettering that many imports have?
 
I have the Chinese made 303 (yeah, stamped 303 not 373 or anything). The China stamped on the sheepsfoot is not huge and uneven like some Chinese knives, but it is deep and dark...does not look very good. The knife is good quality though.
