Correct... early Camillus. Perhaps even the first run from Camillus. I don't buy into the different version based on the spacers. I think they were added at the production level for function more than a design implementation.

I have one in my collection that's lightly used, but that is in a little better shape. If you're willing to part with it, let me know. I'd guess the value around $50 or $60. Some might pay more, others might pay less.

If it had the model number on the pile side, it would be the unicorn. Only rumored to exist...

I agree. I don't think of spacers as separate variations. The spacer was used to compensate for somewhat less than precision production.

I can live with all that. But are you going to recognize the difference at all. As it is a extra part it would be called something in order to have a complete collection. I guess just 'with liner' and 'without liner'.
I've looked at the rivet heads of the knife in question and wondered how they ground many others like them down so rough shaped without digging more into the scale. 300

I agree with 300Bucks that a complete collection should have knives with and without spacers for each variation. My reason for not thinking of knives with and without spacers as separate variations is that the spacers alone can't be used to help date a knife. All of the Camillus 303 variations came with spacers and without.

You stop trying to collect 301-303's by added liners or not, and you take ALL the fun out of it! :)

Hey guys I'm looking to buy 300 series knives. And right now I'm looking for a 301 with the saw tooth blade. "boxes preferred".
But great examples excepted. Thanks
