Walmart's are carrying a nice Buck 303 with the poly pearl handles. Is this a new veresion of the 303 or a special version for Walmart?

Thanks!

I was in Wal Mart today but didn't even go by the knives. They have had the same one for so long. I'm interested. One of my daughters works there and I can get her discount. Tell me more. Sometimes here in the mountains we don't always get things as fast as some folks but hopefully it will get here. I have never even heard of a 303 with this handle. The Cadet is my favorite. Always looking for them in different handle materials.

Walmart has recently updated their knife selection and are offering a nice selection of Buck's as well as other brands. The 303P does not appear to be in all stores yet. I've had a tough time finding them in my local store but have found them at other Walmarts.

Good Luck!

I bought one for my g.f. to carry in her purse, fit and finish are flawless. It came with a superb edge. Heck of an EDC knife for $24.97.

Just a reply to the 303 poly pearl. The Wal Mart in Galax, VA had one and my dear wife bought me the last one they had until they get a new shipment. It is a nice knife for the money. Very solid, well fitting and the Poly Pearl handles are really pretty. Thanks ScotK for letting us know about it. BTW ScotK, I was born in Johnson City, TN over 50 years ago. My folks still live in the area. Thanks again.

Is there a kind-hearted soul somewhere out there who could get me one or, better yet, three of the 303 models in poly-pearl from Wal-Mart??
I have checked store after store around my community (a 50 mile radius) and they are either sold out or do not carry the model. It seems only some of the larger stores around here carry this model.
I need one for myself, and the other two for two BCC members who have also been unsuccesful.
Before you buy these, please be sure you get my email confirmation so that I don't have 10 or 30 knives to buy!!!!
Thanks in advance.

Larry, I'll check but my wife said the one she bought me was the last one until the next shipment came in. I will check some other Wal Mart stores around here as soon as I can. By the way, is this a special knife for Wal Mart or regular production? It would be pretty in red, blue, abalone (excuse sp.) or other neat colors and at that price. Happy hunting.

Russell,
It is a exclusive made only for Wally World and most of their stores seem not to have it.
Thanks, but please do not buy any of them for me without confirming I still need them.
Larry

To those kind souls who offered their help in obtaining one or more of these 303 poly pearl models, I give you many thanks!!
A BCC club member and good friend from Lincoln, CA was successful. Thank you, Charlie Tofft!!
Again, thanks to those who were willing to help me out.

Darn it anyway, I just bought a 303 with the blue delrin scales too. This is my first Buck slipjoint and it is a great knife. My grandpa always carried a 301 Stockman and now I know why. After he died, my grandma gave me his Buck along with a number of other knives he had. I just spent the last few minutes comparing the two. Both are super smooth and sharp even though his is so used that you can't even feel the grooves in the delrin and the blade is so thin the only thing suitable for it to cut is envelopes. This really shows the high standards to which Bucks are made.

This knife is a special for walmart, it was a buyer's recommendation and we have been slow in meeting our delivery quotas.

It is a very nice knife for the money, if I do say so myself...

WalMarts are doing regional displays and switching over to photo boards. They have a numbering system on the boards so they will have the items behind the counter and you just have to ask by the item number on the photoboard to get an actual piece in your hand.

I am not sure now how many stores took the polypearl 303 but we are catching up on deliveries so they should be available.

It seems Wal Mart/Sam's Club have been doing a fair amount of "exclusives" recently. Beside the 303 POly, I know of the Centennial 112 in the Tin, and the Centennial 501 in the Walnut Presentation Box. As the stores only get so many of each, and they are not very good at advance advertising, is there any way information can be posted here when something "different" is coming out so we can be on the look out for it? I really enjoy having knives in my collection that are "exclusives" or "very limited editions and have almost missed out on a couple that were available due to lack of prior knowledge.

Thanks in advance!!!

Dan, thats a good idea. I know we get alot of info on special runs after. I bought the 501 for me and 112 for my father in law.

I just bought the Buck 303 Cadet with poly pearl handles and think it's great. I did notice that one handle is thicker than the other. Is this common? I'm guessing that each handle side is hand made, so it won't match up exactly. If that isn't the case, should I return it? Anyone else notice this?

danben, I checked my 303 poly peart and the handles looked to be the same to me. If it bothers you send it to Buck. They will do everything they can to make it right. Those are neat knives aren't they? My daughter gave me one for my birthday last week.

What matters to you matters to God because you matter to God!

So true, but I decided to return mine. The knife just didn't feel right. Unfortunately, it was the last one; they should be getting another shipment in soon. I plan to check another Wal-mart across town later this weekend. Thanks for the reply.

Danben,
These are all hand shaped by our production people. I'm glad you returned it, it was a mistake.

Does the poly pearl 303 have the 303 stamp on the long blade like other cadets? I just bought mine and noticed that it is only marked Buck USA with an anvil in between.
