I recently posted a question regarding a mint 303 and the good folks of this forum identified it as a Camillus made model.

Just acquired a couple of 309s, unfortunately not mint but still in good using condition . Can anyone tell if they are also Camillus made models.

Yes, Camillus made, Buck added the 309 to there line in 1971, and Camillus had the contract then.
 
Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but if a Buck slipjoint has a long french nail pull like these, it's always a Camillus right?

Some Cam's had crescent pulls after a certain time, but none of the inhouse Buck ones had a long french pull did they?

Your absolutely correct. Non of the Buck made 300 series have the long nail pull.
 
However, please remember that Schrade made 301s and 303s also have the long pull. Perhaps the easiest way to identify a Schrade contract knife is to note that they do NOT have a pivot rivet in the bolsters.

Ooops, I was focused on the Cam's to much, forgot those first ones. I saw an interesting 301 in a second hand store a few weeks ago, long french pull, the tang had 3 lines of print, but the Buck and 301 had been ground off, leaving only U.S.A. and the shield was blank, not polished or ground away, just blank metal. It had never been engraved with the Buck logo.

I wondered if it was one of the rejects that went to missionaries back in the day???
 
Sorry to be late with this pic. Lawn mowing and such.
Picture is of 309s first 309 (cam) to Buck takeover. Also some 'other' scale materials. I still need stag and red. If I am short any others please let me know...:thumbup:
