I have 3 Buck 313 model Muskrats; one is my EDC, one with great handle scales and snap but with worn down blades, and another that I just recently won that has terrific, almost untouched blades but with horribly disfigured handle scales. My question is: will Buck remove the old blades from one and replace them with the ones that are in great shape? And if not, is there any way to possibly swap out the handle scales? Thanks.

The Buck 313 has a pinned construction. This kind of construction is not meant for disassembly and is quite a pain to get into and reassemble properly. Victorinox modders certainly know a thing or two about this.

I'd email Buck and see what they say. They certainly won't do it for free, and will probably just tell you to punch dirt, but it's worth a shot.

If that doesn't work out, if you still really want this project done, perhaps reach out to some individual knife makers that are out and about on this forum to see if they can perform this service for you.

You may perhaps have better luck finding an answer by posting this question in the Buck sub forum, as people there will certainly know more about their customer service than I. I haven't even owned a Buck lol.

Best of luck!

Slip joint pocket knives can be disassembled and repaired, Buck has been doing just that longer than I've been alive. Their warranty and repair department is top notch. Contact them and see what they say. Or go on the traditional knife forum where you will find craftsmen who can swap your blades.

Ask this over in the Buck subforum. Some Buck employees and many Buck experts there.

It's certainly more painful the torx screws lol. However, I was not aware of Buck's repair department reputation. That was certainly informative, thanks!

Sorry for such a delay in posting the final pics; between work, kids and a hutch full of other knives to tend to, I forgot all about it. The first pic is of the 313 I won that had the bad scales, and the next two is of the finished product. Buck’s repair team is just incredible.
