Buck 319 Rancher
I was curious about this one as to age and was it made by Camillus? It looks different from the other 319's that I have seen - regular pull vs long pull on the main blade and plain punch not a spiral punch.

It does look different.

Why don't you PM 300Bucks. He'd know for sure.

We do allow (per our guidelines) limited active links for the purpose of discussing the particular attributes or authenticity of a given knife (subject to the other caveats in the guidelines).

I'm sure Steve was just trying to establish the bona fides of the knife in question.

(Thanks for the heads up and your help.)

Sorry for jacking the thread but, I need a Buck badge for the side cover of a 319 Rancher that I am restoring. Thanks, Buckless319

I will give answer but first advice. I believe a moderator will kick your shins for requesting shield in this manner. You should have likely gone over to maintenance forum or another one seeking knife 'Parts'. They and others here heavily frown on pulling up a old thread to get something personal from it. I am not a moderator so can't say for sure this is really bad, but it seems like it might be so would consider this as decent advice for the future..

Your answer is go buy a broken blade 301 cheap off of the bay and rob the shield they are the same.

Sorry for the abuse of the forum. This is my second post. I found the forum by searching Buck 319 on Yahoo. Thanks for the ideas for the badge replacement. Any ideas what they use for glue to adhere the badge?

You will have to ruin the delrin scale by prying under the shield, be gentle and it will come off.

There are many different glues spoken of thru-out the knife making world. But you also see missing shields on many old knives. The modern knife, bolt and hammer shield on the modern Buck Black sawcut scales is actually a pillar of metal attached to the liner. The top is engraved and the Valox scale is pressed over the pillar down to the liner and 'melted' to the liner by having excess plastic tabs reverse riveted to liner by a heat process. Look down in the well at the liners and you will see the top of the melted plastic scale "rivet". Only found in the all SS, three sping models. The new versions with Dymondwood and yellow Delrin scales have a glued in 'blue anvil' shield. FYI 300
