Buck 382 Trapper

So I just acquired a 382 trapper. Made in china and it has the downward arrow date stamp. Believe that makes it an 07 model. My question is, does that make this steel 420hc or the 420j2? Its a cool little knife, but very dull right now. I guess on e I sharpen it I'll be able to tell what steel it is. I bought the 373 trio from Walmart a while back with the 420j2 and I've noticed I cannot get it as sharp as the 420hc. If anyone has a clue, please let me know. Thanks!!

The 2007 models like yours were still 420HC. They didn't switch steels until 2009.

Sweet, thanks Plumberdv. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I much prefer the USA model Bucks, but I saw the trapper and couldn't say no.
