so I got a 400 recently in bg42, thanks Mike.

not much other web about it even here I didnt find much at all. anyone know the background or what the knife was designed for? its a thicker stock and comes across much larger than pics and measurements show.

I'll add pics later tonight. show yours please. like to lean more about these and see everyone's examples.

I love the 400. It is one of my favorite Bucks.
Here are the two that I own. The top one was done by Leroy and the second is from Buck.

So you grabbed it.
I had been eyeing it myself, but already had 2.
Nice knife especially considering the blade steel.
I always wanted to grab a 192 in BG42, then realized how similar the 192 is to the 400.
The 400 even fits nicely in the 192 sheath.
I planned to give this one a try on whitetails this year.
Sorta wish the handle was more rounded.
I believe yours does have a rounder handle.

The Elk handled one was made up By Leroy to copy the Sambar Stag handled ones.
I chose Elk as Sambar has gotten pretty expensive, and Leroy did a nice job of picking elk slabs.
The 400CB display knives show up now and then, but not always.
Craig then sent it to Mike to make a sheath. Nice knife has gotta have a nice sheath.
Thanks Craig and Mike for making it happen.

They are nice knives.
Let me know JB if your not happy with yours.
I know of someone willing to give it a forever home.

is that first 400 one next to 192, a mini version or just pic tricking me ?

nice ones. great sheath too. you use yours, Sir?

I only have the 2. They are both regular size.
I have used the back polished g10/ aluminum guard handled one a bit. Light use.
That thing is sharp.
