The Akonua is to the Kalinga like the Ranger to the folding hunter.

But where i like the 110 more than the 112

The Akonua is my favorit in comparison with the Kalinga.

Here are the thee Kalinga i have. The white one is a custom made, that I
bought at the aniversary celebrations. I was told who made the scales,
but I forgot it. Does anybody knows who ennobles
this knife?

Best,
Haebbie

Beautiful knives Herbert. I do like the white handle. Is that bone?

I have some of both and my favorite is the Akonua also. the two stags are the same LE, just different serial numbers. There's three different tang stamps amoung the four knives.
I do like the old style Kalinga much better than the new style.

Plumber,I like the old style Akonua as well to collect. But the blade on those are thick for use.DM

VERY nice Haebbie.

Back in the early 1970's the Kalinga was the "holy grail" of Buck knives.

I feel fortunate to have an older Kalinga (with the more tapered guard and micarta scales) as well as a matching Akonua.

I don't really like the "new" Kalinga at all.

It seems that we all are in agreement to prefer the classical line.
The difference between the Kalinga and the Akonua concerns only the
size I think --- like the different sizes of trousers, just as they fit to the wearer.
But who made the Akonua with the ivory handle?

Best,
Haebbie

No, Dave, it is mammoth ivory. I like it too, but I forgot who made the handle.
My thought is Wild Bill Cody, but I'm not sure.

But your's are great too, especially the custom one with only two rivets.
Do you like to trade one of your stag ones?

Best,
Haebbie

I would only be guessing Wild Bill as it looks like others i've seen that he did. It doesn't look like a David Yellowhorse.

Perhaps Mr. Houser can provide some insight?
