After one year of ownership, I have to admit this little knife has become one of my favorites. Must be its size and low weight that makes it so versatile and easy to carry. After much use, it still locks tight, holds a decent edge, and is super easy to sharpen. Wonderful knife for everything from...

to everyday carry.

That's why I always carry one. First generation two-piece handle. But the single handle are okay too.

:)

When I was younger my attitude was why would I buy plastic and nylon when I can have wood, brass and leather. One day I ended up with a 422/nylon sheath. I like the knife and the sheath more than the flapped leather sheath. I don't use a closed sheath often but when I do it's a 422.

I know the 422 is very utilitarian, great for weight saving and if you have to have one, the lanyard hole. I like the feel of the FG 112 with brass and wood. My favorite is this one worked over by Leroy with walnut scales and BG-42 blade. Preston

Vice nice, Preston. Wood & brass or plastic, the Ranger is one of Buck's best looking knives.

Thanks, as I said one of my favorites...along with a dozen or so other models:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Preston

I had one when i was a kid and carried it often. I really liked it, dont know what ever happened to it. Ive had a few more pass through my hands since then. I think ill stay on the look out for another one, although honestly a 424 would probably be enough knife for me these days. So many great knives that i either miss or just want. Lol

Nice attempt at trying to convince yourself that a 424 is enough knife. Can't wait to see photos of your new 422! :p :D :)
