My sister got me a buck 422 years ago. I have not carried it much because I prefer pocket clips and not sheaths, but love this knife and want to have it more. I had a deep cary MXG Gear clip for a Behcnmade I was not using. So I thought, What the heck. Let's see if I can put it on this. It could not have turned out better. The clip is totally tight and does not have any movement. I used a 1/16 bit for a short pilot hole and they just screwed right in, no problem. It sets in my pocket perfectly. Just thought I would share.

That looks good but I would be concerned that it may become loose over time.

That handle material is not known for strength.

Did you use helicoils or perhaps epoxy the screws in place? What type of screws did you use, self tapping, wood or machine?
For what it's worth, I replaced the clip on two old Spyderco FRN knives by driving the screws directly into the handles. I used blue Loctite and carried the knives for some time without issue. I still have one of them, but it's retired.

I just used the basic screws that came with the clip and screwed them directly into the plastic after drilling the pilot holes. They are really solid and don't move at all. To be honest I never thought of putting in an epoxy to secure them. If they come loose I will. But these are small screws so I figured if they do come out then I would buy some longer self-tapping ones. I just wanted to try this and it seemd to work.
