I have on the way here with two rivets. I have the chance to get a used older model with 4 rivets for around $20. Should I do it?

Thanks,
John

There is a whole different mystique surrounding the 422 and bucklites in general. Ones with 112 blades, ones with 110 blades, pink, purple, od, and no telling how many other colors.

They could be as addicting to collect as the 110/112's and maybe some cheaper.

You can't own just one. :D:D

I don't even know how many model numbers there are in the bucklites.

The Bucklite series started with the 422 two pc handle and went from there.
the 112 size consists of:
422 two pc handle- discontinued
422 one piece handle- discontinued
442 two piece handle- this is still around in some places
replaced for the most part by one of the curent 280 series knives

110 size
426 two pc handle- discontinued
426 one pc handle- discontinued
428 two pc handle two bladed selector- one permanent blade, one changable blade- discontinued
429 two pc handle single blade selector- one changeable blade- discontinued
446 two piece handle- this really wan't a 110 size- much larger- discontinued
replaced by one of the current 280 series knives

501 size
424 two pc handle- discontinued
424 one pc handle- discontinued
444 two pc handle- this still around in some places
replaced by one of the current 280 series knives

505 size
425 one pc handle- these are still around in some places
replaced by one of the current 280 series knives

Of course, there were a myriad of colors used on the various models; the first ones being maroon handled and black handled 422's. They debuted in 1983, at least that's what the plaque on my wall says. The prototypes were built using strictly 112 and 110 components in hand shaped Micarta handles; the first ones not really intended to be new product prototypes. but being made "just because".
