I just stumbled across a metal handled Buck 426, sure looks like a 562. Whats the difference?

I remember hearing it said that that was an earlier version. You could take it apart with a included tool, and it had a clip. That match what you have?

It's probably a titanium handled 560 with a 426 blade in it. The most likely story on that is Buck ran out of 560 stamped blades and instead used one stamped for the plastic handled 426. Sounds like a good addition to your collection. Now all you need to find is a 426 with a 110 blade and a 110 with a 560 blade. ;)

I agree with Warhawk BUT remember, there were two different 426 blades. The first one was a drop point. The first series of the Alaska Statehood knife was a 110 with a drop point 426 blade and the second series was the same etching and had a regular 110 blade in it.
