I am looking at getting my groomsmen knives for my wedding and looking at some inexpensive buck gentleman folders like the nobleman and colleague but just wondering how there 440a is?

I have often thought that a Nobleman would be a great groomsman gift.
I have one and it looks great but I use croc sticks to sharpen my knives because I'm no sharping wiz, and the 440a on it is the only one I trouble getting "arm hair shavin" sharp. Cant beat the price of em-I picked mine
up new on the bay $17 and free shipping.

The Nobleman, Colleague and Scholar knives are 440A.

I have a Colleague. The blade steel is indeed listed as being 440A.
Blade and handle designs are good. Love the blade shape.
Fit and finish is good.
Ergonomics is good for a knife that size.
I measured the blade hardness at 58. Edge retention is good for 440A. For EDC usage, I find the edge retention just fine.

Nice little knife. I think the Nobleman would be an excellent choice as my only issue with the Colleague is it is too small.
(I can only carry knives with a 2" blade at work so this is a common problem for me. I like bigger knives. I only get to carry small ones 11 hours a day.)
