I read about these on another thread, which related to making a slightly larger 110.

In person, these knives are almost comically big. My Dad (who turned 80 this year) likes to kid me about new knives that i show him being "fingernail cleaners" (any blade less than 4" is small, in his opinion). He didnt mske that comment this time 😆. It is an interesting design, and I'll probably try to carry it from time to time. Unfortunately, mine did not come with a sheath. Anyone got a spare laying around?

To put the size in perspective, for anyone who hasn't seen one up close, here it is with two of its cousins:

Who else has one of these behemoths?

I’ve not seen that one before, it’s a big boy! Interesting that it has no markings on the blade.
It does have a tang stamp, just really hard to see in these photos. That, and they stamped it much smaller than most other Buck knives I've seen. Maybe to make the Goliath look even bigger?? I'll try to get a closeup of it this evening.

I love the novelty factor of the 446. You can't help but chuckle when you pull it out of your pocket. I like to pair it with a mini Buck for additional chuckles.

I remember years ago Joe Houser took up the challenge to swap the blade into a 110 frame..and made it work lolol! Armand likes these and collects them. There are a few LE's including one with a wood insert in the handle. I have a vague memory of a 'Workman' pad print version but am NOT positive about that. If you have big hands you can really get a good grip but what I like best about it is how incredibly light it feels in your hand considering the size..

There was also a Camo 446 made.
I have seen one with a 2000 stamp on it.

I have the 446 with sheath

I've got one unused tucked away in my collection. It’s definitely a very 90s design. You have to go back to 1991 when Gerber released the Gator. Also known as the model 650, or Gerber Gator. These became very popular knife and Gerber sold a lot of them. Buck released the 446 shortly after. It felt like a response to compete with the Gator. Blade profiles on both look very much alike, but the 446 being larger. They also both came in similar nylon sheaths. In my opinion the Gator is the superior knife due to it’s more comfortable grip/handle.

The Goliath definitely brings a guy back to the 90's. Staring at the Buck displays in thr hardware stores and at Wally World

I had a Gator and so did a lot of my buddies. I don’t remember the 446 at all
