Buck 500 and Case Mako?

Does anyone have any experience with these? I know the heavier Bucks (110 & 112) are workhorses and the Schrade lockbacks are good users. Does the Case stack up? And is the thinner Buck out of it's league among the heavier knives? I'm looking for an EDC that might pair well with a Queen stockman or trapper. I don't need a prybar just a reliable lockblade with a bit more class than my CRKT m-16-03. Thanks in advance. Great forum, by the way.

I own a Buck 500 and carry it regularly when the "tactical" look won't do. I'm not familiar with the other brands in this size range, but my older Buck (micarta scales and 440C steel) is quite nice.

If it's between a Buck and a Case..my own opinion is it's a no-brainer..the Buck will very likely be dependable...Case is crap; again, this is just my own opinion and experience with both brands.

Of the lockbacks I would choose to carry..well, they are all probably a little scary to sheeple; but the Spyderco FRN Native is reasonably unfrightening. :)

The only Case I have any experience with is a near mint bowie that must be close to thirty years old. It was my Grandpa's until he passed away. Car repairs have put my search for the perfect two knife combo on hold for a bit, but at least I feel I'm pointed in the right direction. Thanks.
