I have a Buck Squire 501 with a handle material that looks a bit like the G-10 material used on some knife handles today. This is a pre 1986 Buck. Would anyone know what this material is?
Thanks much for any information.

It looks like maroon micarta.

Best,
Haebbie

The 501 is a first version (with the exposed rocker rivet) from around 1975 which used maroon Micarta inlays as Haebbie indicated.

Thanks for the replys and great information. I get a lot of the Buck 500 series and have not been able to figure out what this material was. You have sure been a big help.
Best Wishes,
Ed
