Buck 501 manufacture year?

Hello, I hope I’ve done this right, this is my first post. While helping my uncle move this past week, he gave me a few buck knives. One in particular I can’t seem to figure out what year it was produced. When I look at Bucks charts for date identification don’t seem to apply to the one I have. Maybe I’m just doing it wrong, but I was hoping to have someone here help me, so it says BUCK 501• U.S.A when I see information about the • they specify 2 or more dots by the model of knife. I’ve tried to make a Flickr account in order to post pictures but says “ images cannot be loaded from the passed link”

Comments please, from Joe and maybe from old-timers who were there or have records (Paul Bos would be good). 1980. Nineteen hundred eighty was a big year for Buck. Moved to new facility at El Cajon and operations there started in August. Paul Bos started doing the heat treat. (?) Really...

Thank y’all for the help. It’s my first 501, and honestly it’s a nice little knife, I ordered a sheath a few days ago and it arrived today, shame it’s made in Mexico, but seems like an okay sheath albeit kinda a poor fit.

maybe they've changed the 501 a little over time - I've a recent one and the sheath is a glove
