What is this? Buck 501 or Buck 521 Impala Knife (Cabela's LE)?

This knife was purchased at Cabela's in 2008. The blade with the stigma of the usual 501, but box and handle like a Buck 521 Impala LE.
Whether has this knife any value for collectors?

Thanks!

ps: And excuse for my bad English :)

irr, Thanks for posting this photo of you knife. It looks like a 501LE to me. I've see and held a model like that, its very handsome. It should say on the end of the box. DM

In an invoice from Cabela's and on a
box it is told that it is 521 LE.
Error of assembly?

On the blade to the right of the model number, does it have an arrow pointing up stamp? That is 2008. DM

From time to time Buck uses "wrong" blades. The blade of the 501 and the 521 are the same. Difference: the blade stamp. If the blades for a series are sold out, Buck uses the matching ones from other series. That could be the background for the 501 blade in a 521 frame.

You're welcome, David.

The 50x knives have at least a pair of front bolsters.

The 52x models doesn't have any bolsters.

That's the difference.

The 521 and 501 use the same blade with a different tang stamp. The frame in this case was a 521 so they should have used a 521 blade stamp but as it turned out they gave it a 521 model number and used a 501 blade rather than make up new blades for the project.

Ok I know this is an old old thread but this might actually answer something I've been trying to figure out. So the 501 and 521 are actually basically the same knife except for the bolster. Am I correct on understandering this.

Nevermind. Once gain I got my numbers mixed up. I have a 522 not 521.

OK, while you guys are throwing around numbers, anyone have a 510 that they could show with a 521 or 501?

I have one also with a standard 501 blade dated 2007. Mine came without box so I don't know the origin. Interestingly I found the knife on the Special Projects Lists cat #4482 0521-CA-0 "On going program with Cabela's jigged buffalo and cherrywood bolster, mp blade in LE box"

Neither of ours have the mirror polished blade....I feel cheated.....
