Hello all,

I've recently become fascinated with the buck 501, but am unsure of the size when imagining it. I have a kershaw leek that seems to be around the same size. If anyone else has the two and doesn't mind taking a picture comparison, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Here you go, and you are in deep clover with this size Buck folder, oh yes you are in luck:

Buck 501 in hand.

2d photo,from left to right: 521, 424 with 501 blade, 424, 444, 444, Leek, 501, Leek and 424 (my EDC).

Have it your way!

Oregon,

Thank you very much for those pictures! This was exactly what I was looking for. Also, thanks for the custom shop, but I think I'll get a normal one to start with, although the s30v blade alone is very tempting

Thanks again!

My pleasure. Your request gave me a chance to go hunt and peck for stuff I haven't put together for a while.

I like the 501 but I carry the 424. One of my all time favorite knives. It is very user friendly and doesn't cost an arm or a leg if you have a Canadian, like RedCanoe, who provides the goods.

I've asked Buck about a small factory production run, about 250 units minimum, of the 424s with S30V satin finish blades and clear/transparent handles. This is something I'd like to own and use if the production costs are manageable and others find them attractive enough to belly up and 25 members would take 10 each. I'll see how it goes.

I would want one of those!!

So, your 10 and my one, makes 11 :) 239 more to go??

Good to know that you support the idea. Thank you.

I like simple, inexpensive, durable, transparent, easily carried and user-friendly folders.

I'll post it's own thread when details jell and forum rules allow such a thing.
