OK, sorry. Welcome to the Buck forum. Chuck Buck passed on earlier this year. He was President, CEO then Chairman of the Board until his death earlier this year. He was the 3rd generation. He spent a lifetime going to events and trade shows. There is no counting the number of knives he has signed.
His son CJ Buck is the fourth generation and is currently President and CEO.
There are varied opinions as to the value. My feeling is that the signature has the most value as a personal momento to the person he signed the knife for, but he signed too many in his lifetime to add significant value to a knife. If you are a seller on eBay, the signature is always "hyped" making the knife "rare". As a collector I prefer knives without the etching on the blade, the family name on the tang is enough for me. Other collectors like the signature and feel it makes the knife more special. To each their own. Hope this helped.
WOW...I just noticed this is my 2,000th post... I need to get a life away from the computer..... ;o)
