Hi Guys,

I hope you all have had enjoyable Christmas days and a lot of gifts under your Christmas tree. On the pics is my Christmas gift to me. Nice little knife, istn't it? But i've some questions:

Is the handle of the knife made by Buck? If yes, was it a regular knife or a limited edition? What was the price for this cute dinky cutting tool?

Many thanks for your answers and a happy new year to all of you.

Best regards,
Herbert

...Hi Herbert and I hope your Christmas was a happy one as well. I do believe Buck has put out some MOP scaled 505's but the mosaic rivets in those scales tells me that the knife is a "re-scaled" knife done by someone else. As to it's value I'm in the dark as to what these people who re-do the scales and such might charge. An Buck 505 goes for between $15 and $30 dollars on that site with the "vowel"...They retail for $47 dollars on the Buck site...

hi haebbie
i too hope you are enjoying the holidays and wish you the best in the coming year(s)
i agree with darryl on it being rescaled by someone other than buck
as for the prices he quoted i think he meant with the standard scales with the mop it would be worth more but this one is not factory so it could be worth less or more depending on if you like the mosaic pins or not
but beings it was a gift to you i would say it is next to priceless so enjoy

BM 10, you ar right. If it is a gift I never ask for the value. But it was my gift to myself and then it is not reprehensible to be curious what its value is.

But at All: I found the knifemaker who rescaled the knife. It is "One of a kind" http://www.oneofkindknives.com/. He rescales a lot of different knives. And when I have a look at my knife he makes a good job. But he doesn't publish a price list for his work.

Best regards,
Haebbie
