Hello,

I bought a Buck 526 c sterling silver knife (marked AFC.925) with a-corn/oak leaves pattern.
I tryed to look up some info about this pattern.
I understand it was made in 1995 (c)
I would like to know if the silver scales were added by the buck company or by some other external company (afc??)
Is there a way of telling how many wetre made?

Thanks,

That's a Buck plant.

Buck made some more of these silver scaled knives.

I see nothing on the BO lists. Judging by the photos and the handles being larger than the liners, I'm going to assume this was done post-production. I'm only speculating though as I'm no expert on the little 526s.

In the BO lists though there are couple listed with engraved stainless handles with gold fill.

I'm sure someone will chime in with more reliable information...

Edit:
Upon further review, have a read here:

These knives are not on the BO list, they are on the limited or special edition list.

I have one they are not in the BO list. As they were a Limited Edition. They came in a velvet pouch in a hard shell case with a spring lid. A handsome well crafted model. Mine is not the oak leaf pattern. Mine is like Haebbie's model in the upper left of his photo. DM

Yes, Tiffany's.
Yes, it stands for 1995.
Look on the spine of yours for a 926 stamp. On the handle layers at the back of the handle spacer. DM

I found the oak leaves 526 in the 1997 dealer catalog and in the limited/special edition list 1997 with an estimated msrp of 150 USD. The August 1997 BCCI newsletter states a quantity of 105 ex.

Thank you Haebbie.
So as a special (not mumbered) edition the dealer catalog estimates that about 105 oak leaveds pattern were made...
Well, I got mine for about $105 (including international shipping cost).
It is in unused/mint condition - without box or papers ...
