I'm assuming this knife was part of series. Anyone know how many knives were in the series and/or have any other information on this one? Also, it's a 1991 knife but the artwork is dated 1992. What year was the 531 discontinued?

Hi tvranesic,

Your 351 was part of a series issued in 1992. There were a total of 6 different 531 knives issued each for a different battle of the civil war. Yours was for the battle at Brandy Station.

Thanks...now where can I find the other five?

TV, What a great collection those would make . I didn't remember Buck doing those . The etching was done at the Buck plant . I have a 531, not ectched like yours, dated 1993 it was bought as a advertised discontinued model from Smokey Mt. . So, Buck could have discontinued that model shortly after that . DM

David's right. The last time they show up in the catalog as a stock item is in 1994.

Battle: First Manassas
Battle: Antietam
Battle: Seven Days
Battle: New Market
Battle: Brandy Station
Battle: Chancellorsville
Battle: Monitor and Merimac

Above are the SEVEN in the series. FYI.

Thanks for the info update Richard,

There are 6 in the 1992 issue
There are 1 in the 1993 issue "Battle: Monitor and Merimac"

It's nice to have the folks here who have this information in their head, like Richard. I had to look at the BCCI LE history and did not look past "92". The date stamp on the photo above is for a 1991 blade. I'd like to see a photo of the complete series to see what the date stamps would be ;)

Clinton,
Watch your mail later this week. I sent you something that you may find of help to enhance your display. It is not much but it is a start.

I'm not going to bother trying to track down and buy all 7, or any of them, unless I just happen to stumble across one. But I would really like to see pictures posted here of each one.

The Monitor and Merimac must be interesting.

No doubt the dates on these knives coincide the PBS Ken Burns documentary on the Civil War which got the whole country on a Civil War craze. (For good reason. It is a fascinating history and excellent series.)

Larry,I'll be out at the box every day! Displaying my 112 collection is more fun than I ever thought it could be...Even at a smaller show like the Gator show in Lakeland. Back on topic about a year ago 2 knives in this series went for less than $75.00!! One went for $52.00...
