Hello!
I am so impressed with 532's geometry... Could you please recommend me some place where to buy it? Is it possible to order one with BG-42 on Buck Custom Shop?
I appreciate any links and pictures - BladeForums's search is not working for me.
:)

I bought one with a BG-42 blade here on the forums. They don't come up very often, and much less often with a BG-42 blade. You might try looking for a Buck Master Series one, but I have tried before and never found one.

You can buy a few different handled ones on that auction site pretty regularly, and there is a special edition one made last year that a lot of knife sites carry (but it is more custom and very expensive).

If I were looking for another one, i'd probably put up a WTB post and see if that generated anything.

It is a nice knife. I had a thumbstud added to mine and use it periodically for EDC.

Try Country Knives in PA.

I just looked at their site, they have 3 listed, well 2 532's and a 531. The 532's are $300+, and none of them have any pictures or any details that I could find.

I'd guess its the Wilde Bill Cody with the Apple Coral handle, but without any descriptions its hard to say.

Yep, I like those 532's a lot too; in fact, it is my understanding that this model is Chuck Buck's favorite as well so we are in good company. If you are a BCCI member, you can log into the web site and check every 532 variation made and the date of manufacture. It is also my understanding that much like the Model 500, production of the Model 532 is currently limited to special and limited editions, and some of those can be pretty pricey althought they are really great lookers. If you are just looking for a "plain Jane" carry knife, email me and I will put you in touch with a BCCI club officer who most likely can help you at a very reasonable price.

two of them are the "normal" 532 and the third in the middle is the 532 EU with scales made of walnut. The EU was sold in Europe, some of them in the U.S. As i know there were made 250 knives with a little overrun. I just got a second 532 EU, bought in Germany, but there are no box and papers.

Best,
Haebbie

We have a few left in the Buck Factory store and I could get you set up if you like. I have a couple myself as well. Feel free to send me an e-mail about it.

We only have 420HC models though. Heck, I'd like a BG-42 one myself but we don't have any blades!

There is a special ed 532 with a BG42 blade on ebay right now!

You have 23hrs if you want to bid.

It's not mine and it's already gone too high for me to put in the safe ($66 right now).

Can't post link since I think that is a no-no here. Search and ye shall find.

Thats just like mine. I paid more than that for it, thats not a bad price even for a 532 without the BG42 blade.

Hey, does anyone have a better pic of the BG-42 one that is on eBay? What does the handle look like? Thsi one is from before my time here and I can't tell what the handle looks like form the cruddy pic.

If that one really is just like mine, which I am pretty sure that it is, here are a few pictures:

Three different handle materials were utilized on the three versions of these 532's, all of which were manufactured in 2000: (1) walnut, (2) cherry (red) wood, and (3) indigo (blue) wood which appears to be the one currently listed on ebay. Although stated to be "blue", all the indigo models that I have ever seen appear distinctly green in color and Joe H. has confirmed that to be the case. Most, but not all, of all three models were manufactured with BG-42 blades. Production numbers are 860 (walnut), 810 (indigo), and 820 (cherry).

Jimmer, the handles do indeed appear green, but they were listed in the catalog as indigo (blue), and the box in which they came was labeled 532 BL (for blue). Another Buck oddity??

Hi TS,

You are correct my Buck Brother. Though the handles are more green than blue....the box shows this as B532-BL-0. LOL...I had this in hand for the scan and did not even notice:rolleyes:.
