Buck 532 ?

Hi Sky,

Do you like to have on for your collection or as a user?

Best,
Haebbie

When I get one it will be a user, unless it's never been used.Lots of belly on that blade, great design.

The 532 is like the 500, Buck still makes them on a special basis. They had a 532, camel bone on the web special page a few months ago. BCCI is offering a 532 for it's members in the March newsletter. It will have S30V steel. If your not a member, you can join for $20.

So, you should be able to buy a used one or get a new one as Buck will make the 532 in the future as a special offer.

Its odd I have a brochure that states the 535, 531 and 532 Bucklock's were new products in 4-92 and then discontinued just 2yrs. later . Sure are a lot of people wanting them now days . Buck brings them back often as LE's . Theres one available now with S30V steel . DM

Anyone know WHY the 532 was discontinued? Logic would say it didn't sell well enough, but perhaps there were other reasons, such as cost to make vs. profit margin?

They are one of my favorite patterns of Buck knives.

Peter,
I agree with you. They produced 14.400 between 1991 and 1994. And may be it was
not profitable enough. I like them too, but the 531 and the 532 are not as solid as the
110 and the 112. If you like a solid knife for stiff jobs the 110 and the 112 would be
the better purchase.

and I agree with you Haebbie. To me, the 532 is more of a "gentleman's" or "dress" folder. Especially in pearl and highly polished.

I engraved one, and some people i've showed it to, that collect high end customs, were impressed with it. They had never seen a 532?

Don't forget the Master Series, green scales with BG-42 blades. And the year 2000 series (532), also with BG-42. I have one of the latter, with Rosewood scales. It is very nice, and the steel really holds an edge well.

SureHaebbie ,thanks! The blade shape is so good,I don't understand why Buck dropped it.

Those "Master" series seem fairly rare. I have seen very few for sale.

I did get one of the 2000 BG-42 versions. A blue one.

BG-42 is great steel! One of my favorites:D
