Playing in a music session in a crowded Irish pub. Gave my daughter money and asked her to order me some fish and chips. When I saw the food arrive I struggled through the crowd to our table. The fish looked great but was accompanied by only a flimsy plastic fork. Walking to the bar to ask for a knife would have been a pain in the crowded conditions. Out came the Buck 55. The food was great!

(a chicken story) The current 'SPORK' used at KFC is so flexibly soft and useless it can barely manage the mashed potatoes.....
My restaurant standby is a Paradigm.

I have embarrassed my wife on several occasions when I whipped out my knife to cut otherwise inedible food. However, what is a redneck to do? Once, we were eating at Chilis and you know how big those burgers are. I cannot eat a whole one plus the fries and chips. So, I pulled out my 302 and zipped through that monster, cutting it neatly in half, then asked the waiter to pack half of it for home.

knives used as knives/cutting tools. nothing wrong with that.

now keeping the mess out of the pivot area on a folder can make the chore harder than a butterknife.... if one was around to use.

I'm impressed you have the willpower to bring half the burger home! I'd cut it in half and then eat both halves!

The older I get the less I eat. There was a time when I could eat a large pizza, drive 20 minutes, and need to eat again! (I grew 9 1/2 inches that year in height).
