I just went to Gander Mountian and saw this knife. I really liked it. I didn't buy it yet. Does any one have one or an opinion about it. I may have to put something up on the trade forum and see if I can get one. It was $40.00 at Ganders. That is why I did'nt get it. The 110 was $25.00 or something.

The Buck 110 and the 55 are similarly priced wherever I have seen them. I prefer the size of the 110, but the 55 looks like a very nice little knife.

Thank you for the link guy g. I am going to check it out now. I also prefer a larger knife, but it seemed a nice gents knife or dress knife.

I like the 55, but around here they cost significantly more than the 110, and that doesn't make sense to me.

The 110 is "mass" produced and often is used as a 'loss leader'.The 112, 55 and others are produced in fewer numbers and that makes their cost of production higher, thus lower discounts to dealers.

I got my Buck 55 from an eBay seller for less than $40 including a leather belt sheath -- I've seen a number of eBay sellers with high (>99%) ratings selling the 55 for that price range.

If you're not comfortable buying from an eBay seller, I also recommend Dante's Knife Works (dantesknife.com), who has a good reputation here on the forums.
