Buck 55

I got one and really like it. Keep in mind this is a slim gent-sized knife that has the side profile approximating a 110 -- the blade is less than 2.5". The quality is high -- the same as you would expect for a 110.

I like mine. It's small, thin, and easy on the pocket. Good slicer and nice looking. You need one.

I don't use mine that much (too many "others:D ), but it's also my first Idaho Buck. I was much smaller than I expected, but fit and finish was excellent. Sharpness was what I expected from Buck - razor sharp out of the box:D If you are a 110 fan, it's a great addition:)

It's a GREAT pocketknife. Search the archives ...... lotsa great feedback on this little pup. I love mine.

Here's one of several threads regarding the 55:

I own one myself - got a great deal from an eBay seller, who threw in a Buck brand belt sheath (I think the sheath was designed for the Buck Prince but it holds the 55 snugly). 55 and sheath for less than $40, including shipping!

I don't carry mine around much - it is a little small to make a good EDC - but it's beautiful and razor-sharp. It arrived with a lot of blade play in all four directions, but I sent it in to Buck Knives and they had it repaired, sharpened to an even scarier edge, and back to me within a month.

It's a great little knife, it's my "food" knife-use it for cutting up apples, cheese, etc. when I'm at work. Used it on some venison jerky one of my co-workers brought in. One other guy said he'd have some so, "you can use your new knife again"!

This may go against the majority but but I think for a few dollars more the 501 is a better overall EDC. Check that one out as well... and you get a sheath with it.

But I'm a drop point kind of guy.

Thanks, guys!
I ordered one yesterday. My sister is buying it for Christmas!
It beats the hell out of socks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:D

Chickentrax...It's listed as an "Every Day Knife"...still there and still a good one...

Overall I think the whole 500 series make excellent EDC's. Check out the 500 (The Duke) or the older 501's (The Esquire)... Both have maroon micarta handles and 440 drop point blades. They are worth looking for. I have a few and will try and post a picture later.

And also and of course the Bucklocks or 532's are very good as well.
