Buck 560 Blade upgrade?

Buck newbie here with a question:

I'd heard that it was possible to upgrade the 420HC blade on the 560 to BG42. Anybody know anything about this?

I bought a 560 erroneously assuming that a 110 blade could be swapped in, but evidently this is not the case. my plan was to fit it with the S30V blade from my Alaskan Guide 110 and make myself a Buckbenza :D .

I've already sent an inquiry re this at the Buck website, and I'll post the results once I hear back. However, if anyone knows anything that might be helpful, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Why won't it fit, Jim??? What's different??? :confused:

I have a 560 with a BG-42 blade, but I bought it like that.
 
Contact Joe Houser. I have done this exact thing with Joes help. I am now the proud owner of an older gray 560 with an S30V blade, my Buckbenza, and an AG with an ATS34 blade and Joe made it happen for just the cost of the blade upgrade on the AG handle. Two of the sweetest knives I own. Thanks again Joe.

I actually don't know this for sure. I was told this by someone who does custom mods to knives when I was inquiring about having him do the blade upgrade.

Just to repeat WilltheBarb - contact Joe Houser.

I had the same thing done. 560 fitted with a BG42 blade. Great knife.

Dunno who told you that, but a 110 blade will fit just fine in a 560.

yes in fact when buck ran out of 560 marked blades they used the 110 blade thus creationg a question = is it a 110 with a Ti handle or a 560 with the wrong blade...? what say ye ?
i say a 110 with Ti frame...
 
And there have been a few 110's show up with 560 blades... or wuz I just dreaming that....

yes ke-mo-sabie,
there have been also 560's with brass frames...
many strange and wonderfull things happen at buck ....
some are possable jest for the asking the aranger ...
some are sara zippiedoda
and never were ment to be
because they were only
jest a let's look and see...
