Got my 560 XLT-Ti today. It was a disappointment, not in terms of design, but in terms of operation.

The locking bar is so hard to engage that it hurts my fingers; moreover, the blade "catches" and sometimes won't close at all. Since you have to strain so hard, fingers get into precarious positions when the blade finally gives. Seems dangerous to me. None of my three 110s or my 112 have this problem.

I could return it to the dealer, but I have to fool with shipping, insurance, delivery confirmation and then wait to be reimbursed. My original plan though was to send in this knife for a blade exchange (to BG-42).

My questions: Do you think it best to go through the dealer and get a functional knife first? Or can Buck fix/replace the locking bar so that it works correctly?

If anyone from Buck could address this one, I'd really appreciate it.

Send it to Buck, sir. I went the dealer route first and it...sucked, to put it mildly.

Buck, however, made it right and earned me as a continuing customer.

Email Joe Houser, he'll take good care of you. Be aware there may be a delay right now due to the situation with the fires and I know he was planning on being gone about this time.
The 560's are stiffer to work than the 110's. Use will improve, but never as good as a 110. I have both and prefer the 110. Love the BG-42 blade by the way.

Guyon,
I would recommend that you send it in to us. We will certainly make it right. The 560 does tend to take a bit more pressure on the release bar than a 110 but yours sounds like it has issues.
If you need the address, send me an email and i will give you all the details.
Take care,

Thanks Joe. Easier to send in once than twice (exchange and then blade exchange).

I really like the knife, and I think it'll be great in BG-42.
