I saw a Buck 560c at a local pawn shop. From a bit of research and seeing a few on ebay, it's hard to tell how much one should be worth. This particular model had some light use, but overall it was in good condition. They had it tagged at $115, but that seems pretty high. Not knowing anything about it while I was there, I didn't want to throw that cash out there. Anyone have any input?

I am leaving this thread open, do not talk money, Oregon I know your heart is pure but you are a little sneaky. We will not play poker. BUT. I have posted this link to Buying and Selling hoping someone else will learn what you can and can not do about asking value, pricing or asking for a Want To Buy.

I would sure enjoy a few photos of the knife. Perhaps, just maybe, there is something unique about it.

The last 560 I purchased, directly from the hands of Chuck Buck, and I foolishly left some just like it on the table, was NIB $60 black on black and flawless. I know that it was perfect because Chuck told me to check it. A full-sized lite weight folder carried in a sheath, clip point and pinned construction.

ASmith, Don't feel too bad this is constantly coming up. To do any cost requesting, buying or selling you must be a Gold Level member. This is a privately owned forum and his rules is the rules. If anyone has not read the rules pages well here is a shortcut, I am leaving the thread open so maybe someone with learn something new. If you wish to help the OP with a photo of what a good one looks like go ahead but no values or the lock goes on.

Well I've found great deals at pawn shops but remember they usually buy at 10% value so learn your knives and haggle. The worst they can say is no.

I hope I can give a general comment on pawnshops as I have been around them for many years,,, they always start VERY high and will usually jump at half what they are asking..always remember..no wty on most things! A quality knife being the exception!

Did it have a sheath, was the box present? Another way to look at it is if you are willing to lay the bills down, then it's worth it. I once bought 8 knives for more than I could afford just to get the 2 that I wanted at the price I wanted. When i sold the extras, the 2 I wanted ended up being free. Value is only what someone is willing to pay.

Set a price in your head- what is the maximum amount you'd pay... Offer less, Play the game, bring cash, Do you have any items you could part with to make up the cash difference? If you want it BUY it!

my rule is if you don't think it is a good buy right away ... walk away ..
like said they buy at 10% ... and want to make a bunch off of some one
but
I have bought at pawn shops and paid reasonable prices when I offered them ...
respectable shops will sell at less... their asking is a starting point most times
as a rule I offer half of their asking and most times end up some place in between..
