Two very good Kydex Sheath makers Azwelke and Diez knives . The problem is unless they have the model Buck in hand you need to send them yours for a pattern.

The 808 Talon could certainly use a good Open spine Kydex Sheath :) I’m not willing to send mine in for a pattern. Adds to much to the cost :(

LT Wright made a fantastic leather/kydex hybrid sheath for my son’s Compadre. Yes, we mailed the knife to them.

The other sheath was made by Hickman Saddlery for Buck for the SK Blades version of the Compadre. I reached out to Hickman Saddlery and they have also made a similar design sheath for me for some Buck Open Season Small Game Knives. I mailed them one also, with no problems.

I'm hoping Buck comes up with a kydex sheath for the entire Alpha series knives.

I really like my 663, but the sheath keeps me from purchasing any of the other Alpha knives.

The snap on the thing is just awkward, and I've already cut the leather retention strap.

These knives would be great with kydex sheaths.

Please!!!!!

Hang in there just a little longer

Hi, is there an update? I am also wondering if there's a Kydex sheath that will fit the 662 Select. I am very happy with the 420HC and I love the scales, but I do not like the sheath, to the point that I won't carry it. I'm only interested in danglers or scout carry or pack carry. With a kydex sheath, I hope to achieve one of those. So I'm with OP wondering if there's a way to get a Kydex sheath for the 662 (Scout Alpha)?

I was told you can call customer service and possibly get one that way.

Spoke with Buck many months ago, their rep told me the Alpha series sheaths should be available for purchase on their website in the near future. The nylon, leather, and kydex.

In the meanwhile, you can find some custom kydex sheaths for the 662 on Etsy, and Oak City Leather has a template for the 662. Through them, you can order pretty much any style of custom leather sheath for that knife. Just don’t expect it to be budget! Their stuff is high end. Their website only shows pancake belt sheaths and pocket sheaths but if you reach out they will make you a traditional pouch sheath, randall-style sheath, or whatever else you want.

Also of note, there’s now a company providing custom Micarta handle scales for the 662. They’re texturized and styled differently than the stock ones. They look nice.

For full disclosure, I have ZERO experience with these aftermarket sheaths or handle scales for the 662. At some point I plan on getting them, but until life is more settled I’m just observing the market.

Although they are not on the website yet you can call our Customer Service Team and order any of the sheaths we offer for the new Alpha Hunters separately. The select,Pro or Elite models will all fit in every sheath option.

Thank you for replying but

a) can I choose the kydex sheath as an option? It's one thing to buy an aftermarket sheath from a third party. But *from the vendor* I don't think I should have to deal with (or pay for) a sheath I don't want and then buy the good one separately.

b) why is everything phone with you guys? I find that really insulting.

Seems like the problem is just one of having your website reflect what you offer. It's 2024. Between this and a terrible customer service experience I had last year, I think I'm done with Buck. There was another knife I was considering for this use. This tipped me.
At least they offered....

I'm guessing the Buck Kydex sheath purchased separately would be cheaper than a custom sheath purchased elsewhere.

I agree it would be nice if Buck would update the website.
Better yet, offer a knife buffet.🤔

Yeah Buck has frustrated me in the past as well, however the few times I have had a quality issue they have stepped up and corrected the problem.

And because of that I remain loyal to them

Yeah, well I deleted the comment because I know from experience Buck won't care.

I agree that they fix quality issues (which are rare on Buck knives). But this did it for me, I'm not buying Buck again. They have always been rude to me, and the above reply is a good example of that. If you want to stick with them, great, but I am tired of US companies treating customers badly. If I want that, I'll just buy from europe.

And, Buck's customer service is U.S. based, and I can understand the person on the other end of the phone.
